i quit autozone--i was a mgr for 6 yrs----they sell used parts as new----wake up consumers!! they are thieves--also--they cut hours and threaten termination if mgrs and employees do not upsell you--you the customer----used parts as new--wake up people!!

plus the free testing?? alot of times the machinery is not working at all----so you will get un true results----they will lie to you to sell you parts!!!!

just ask any mechanic----think twice before you buy--truly----also when you ask for a dist mgr # to call?? they will hesitate to give it to you

The automotive belts do not hold up in everyday use. They are basically 3,000 mile wonders.

After that, the belt will stretch past its usefulness and start to squeal or come apart on you. This can cause costly repairs if someone is not watching their belts carefully. I tried to return their Duralast belt and the management said it was past it's one year warranty. I advised them not to buy these belts for their cars and they had to agree they would not want them on their automobiles.

Autozone belts are no good and their hose clamps will round off and not tighten down on hoses. Their automotive belts and hose clamps are inferior quality and you will be sorry if you purchase them from Autozone.

im done with them. This does it.

I bought a fuel pump from them, $264, about a year ago, and guess what, its going bad. Warranty or not, its still a pain in the but to replace. This is not the first time ive had problems either. A generator for my vw, same ***, but it only lasted a month.

Clutch fan for my brothers bmw, bad when we got it. After four times of trying to get the brake pads for a malibu, had the car there even for them to look at, i finally gave up with them, went to oreily and got the right part the first time. Same thing when it came to replacing the struts on that car. I could easily keep going .

i use to always go to autzone but not anymore. Screw autozone and their janky *** parts and *** service.

I don't know what AZ store PSM works for but if that store is selling used parts as new, they're wrong to do so. That's not the norm and to accuse an entire chain or company of doing such a thing is idiotic.

They sell and tell you they're selling remanufactured parts - not all, but most - and don't tell you they're new. Again, when you ask for a part and expect someone who's making almost minimum wage to know every part on every car made it's not the Autozoner who's at fault, it's you for expecting them to be mechanics. As you well know, no auto "parts" store is going to pay a mechanic wage to someone who is working a retail job. AZ'rs do their best with the computer, knowledge they've tried to pick up on the way and mean well....remember, however, they're not trained (there is no formal training for them), they're thrown into the fray w/o any knowledge ahead of time, they have to learn from the git go or lose the job and the company pays lousy wages.

It's a wonder they do as well as they do because of that so you should realize that if it wasn't for that 'red' shirt or 'grey' shirt trying to be as good as they can at their job so they can keep it, AZ would go down hard. It's time that the company also realize that instead of touting how high they are on the Fortune 500 list - try paying your employees fair wages and give them better health insurance...they're the ones on the front line trying to make "you" the money.

:grin We have one of the best Autozones around ! Very knowledgeable staff and if they do ask someone else it's because NO ONE can know all of the answers!

They couldn't be more helpful unless thy did it for us ! In 12 years I have never gotten a bad part from them.

and when i left within a month i got over 321 people fired! from corporate CEO's and V.P's right on down the ladder to the D.M. am store manager for the crooked *** they do at A Z nothing more than common thieves in red and gray shirts.!

it is possible you see to work at autozone you dont nedd to know nothing about cars.you see this is how it works. you tell the person at the counter what kind of car they have they type it into a computer and there you go an autozone parts specialist.now in reality thats great.

but now you have broken a 8x10.25 bolt and you need one so you ask that same person to get you one they will look at you like you retareded. because in actuality that person has no technical knowledge of a vehicle go ahead and ask them how much resistence does the $90 ignition coil you just purchased from that person THEY WILL MORE THAN LIKELY CALL A MANGER TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION. WHY?. BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.

NOW BACK TO THE USED PART ISSUE. YOU SEE IF THAT SAME PERSON IS PROCESSING A RETURN THEY WILL MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE TO BE TOLD WHAT IS INSIDE THE BOX.SOMETIMES YOUJ CAN TELL THAT PERSON THAT ITS A NEW PART WHEN ITS REALLY BEEN ON YOUR CAR FOR 20000 MILES. FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU NEED AN IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE GO TO AUTOZONE BUY YOUR NEW VALVE AS WELL AS SOME PARTS CLEANER REPLACE YOU VALVE. TAKE THEY OLD VALVE SPRAY IT WITH THE PARTS CLEANER AND TAKE SOME Q-TIPS TO IT AND I GARUNTEE YOU WILL GET YOUR MONEY BACK.WHY BECAUSE THE PERSON WEARING THE RED SHIRTS MORE THAN LIKE KNOWS AS MUCH ABOUT CARS THAN YOU KNOW ABOUT ROCKET SCIENCE.

NOT ONLY THAT IF YOU EVER HAVE A PROBLEM CALL THE 800 NUMBER ON THE WINDOW OF THE STORE THEY WILL GIVE YOU WHATEVER YOU WANT ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SAY THE COUNTER PERSON WAS RUDE. ALSO WHEN YOU GO TO PAY THEY ARE GONNA OFFER YOU THE CHECKOUT CHALLANGE ITEM OF THE MONTH.

PURCHASE ONE IF YOU WISH TO HELP THE PERSON ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNR=TER. I HAVE SEEN GOOD PEOPLE LOOSE THERE JOBS BASED OFF THE FACT THEY CANNOT SELL THE WITTEJR PACKETS AND COC ITEMS THE SM WILL SAY THEY DONT HAVE THE HOURS BUT IN ACTUALLILTY ITS BECAUSE YOUR NOT A SALESMAN.

That's not true, "What". I paid for new parts and received USED parts in the box.

Then the store had the guts to accuse ME of replacing the parts so I could defraud them of a trivial amount of money.

AutoZone may not officially sell used parts to customers, but it certainly happened to me.

If I get the wrong part and return it, should they then throw that part away because I had it at one time? Does that make it "used"?

I don't think so. Show me a store that doesn't re-stock such items and I'll show you a store that takes no returns at all.

Autozone does have a lot of problems, but they do NOT sell used parts, unless you mean rebuilt, and then they are clearly marked as rebuilt, and have a good warranty, lifetime warranty on most things.

Wrong! I just bought a "NEW" part from A.Z.

and the employee told me take it out of the box and check it, because sometimes they are "USED". I did, and it was damaged. So, I asked her how does a new part become damaged? She said, it's not a new part, it's refurbished, but it was sold as new..

Sorry about that".

I wont be back.
