Bought a air conditioning recharging product (STP A/c Pro) with a rebate of $15.00. The product worked as advertised and corrected the problem until I could fix the system.

What I got was a credit card with a cash valve of $15.00, but would have to use there credit card to get the money. I did not what another credit card account, so destroyed the card and rip up the letter. It was false advertising as far as I'm concerned. Will buy from another source, was a good customer for over 18 years, very disappointed in Auto Zone.

This was very deceptive and really low and really would rather deal with a better company. Liked dealing with the employees and had a great relationship with them, but the company just is not good.

Reason of review: rebate rip off.

Monetary Loss: $15.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

The promotions clearly state whether you will receive a monetary rebate via a credit card or an AutoZone in-store merchandise care, where you must use it to purchase MORE Autozone products. Sadly, Autozone does not provide many offers where you can get a credit card to use ANYWHERE.

While I feel your pain, you don't really have leg to stand on as I said earlier, the method of the rebate, while maybe slightly smaller print, does state the form of whatever is coming to you for purchasing that particular product. You would probably be better off just going to a Walmart down the road where the EXACT same product is normally priced cheaper than what you pay at Autozone, assuming your goal is save money.

Autozone doesn't have credit cards. They have a rewards card. But no credit cards.

They didnt give you a credit card account, they gave you a VISA or Mastercard Gift card that would have been accepted anywhere they accept credit cards. You just cut up $15 gift card. I am sure the rebate stated that if you had read it.

That is how most autoparts stores do it. You still got the 15 but since you don't want it its on you. Read the fine print on the rebates if you can.
