BATTERY WARRANTY SCAM?

I ALSO HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE WHERE I TOOK MY BATTERY THAT WAS TESTING AS NOT GOOD BY OREILLYS BACK TO AUTOZONE WHERE I PURCHASED IT. I WAS STILL IN THE WARRATY PERIOD BUT MYSTERIOUSLY THEY COULD NOT FIND MY INFORMATION IN THEIR COMPUTERS. WHAT WAS FUNNY WAS THAT THEY ASKED ME IF IT COULD BE UNDER MY HUSBANDS LAST NAME WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM MINE AND I KNEW IT WASN'T SINCE I PAID FOR IT, BUT THEY PULLED UP MY HUSBAND'S RECORDS TOO ON THE COMPUTER AND MYSTERIOUSLY ALL OF HIS PURCHASES WERE THERE TOO EXCEPT WHEN HE PURCHASED ABTTERY FROM THEM. WHAT ARE THE ODDS THAT BOTH MY BATTERY PURCHASE AND HIS BATTERY PURCHASE WOULD NOT BE IN THE COMPUTER? I TOO WAS OFFERED A 20% DISCOUNT JUST LIKE THE OTHER REVIEWER SO IT SORT OF DOES SOUND LIKE A SCAM. WOULD BE INTERESTED TO HEAR IF ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM.

There's no scam. You obviously either didn't give the correct information at the time of purchase.

Some suggestions on preventing "loss" of information for warranty purposes

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The experiences here seem all to have a common thread, that Autozone can't find their warranty information. I believe they go by phone number and if you changed your number and forgot what it was then they won't be able to find it.

I suggest you simple place the receipt in the glovebox with your owner's manual etc. and then there is no chance for issues. I have never had one but did it as a precaution. I have had several Autozone batteries and their performance has been varied but none of them have ever failed to start my vehicles both large 6 cylinders.

The 2 gold series of the past their top of the line lasted me around 7 years. The midline one I tried one time since I was not going to keep the vehicle for another 7 years failed a load test after 2+ years (I always have AZ check them just before the full replacement period expires and they do it in front of you at your vehicle) Johnson controls makes these and just about everybody's batteries to the specifications requested and or some are just rebranded existing models.

The store in Huntersville, NC is staffed by some people that have been around and I have never had any type of issue with returns etc. I don't think that anybody deleted your information as it would not personally benefit them or the store as per other's comments.

Autozone - Manager Review from Detroit, Michigan

Some of you people are insensitive... "At least you have a job." This person isn't complaining about HAVING A JOB and/or HAVING TO WORK. They're complaining about the unfair treatment experienced at AutoZone (a.k.a AZ). I understand that many people don't even have a job to provide for their families, and that it may suck to see someone who has a way to provide (barely, if at all) for their family complain about it. But, in reality, no one wants to feel like a slave or like they're being used and devalued. I know companies all over are out for themselves, constantly using their employees to project the business. But it doesn't feel good to a employees to be treated like ***. I recently worked at autozone in the past week. I just quit a few days ago after working 7months. And the greatest feeling I've felt at AZ was quitting. The customers were okay.. I could handle meeting their needs. But there was never enough that an employee could do to make a manager proud of them. "Try to get them to buy this. Lie to them about that. Just tell them this. Get their money! I'm cutting hours due to lack of upsales." C'mon, do you guys really need to treat your fellow social/community peers like dirt. Aren't members of society (you would think those in similar situations) supposed to help/uplift one another? I know this isn't a fairytale world, but the "Big Guy" (ceo) really don't care too much about ANY of his "workers"... Seriously. I mean, aren't we the glue to make this company possible?? It's a 90-day come-and-go JOB. (No career opportunities... I wouldn't consider it) .. That's how I see it. Come work for 90days to get a little cash or resolve whatever issue you're having, then go about your business. Simply put.

Auto Parts Review

I got parts in buckhannon wv because the autozone where I live didn't have them which is 30 minute drive well they were wrong because the tall bald guy there must be dyslexic. Anyway I went to the local store where I was met by a cute middle age man with beedy eyes named Rob. He was more than helpful and actually got me the parts I needed. I will not go out of my way to the other store anymore.

Autozone belts are no good

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Autozone is peddling inferior products that won't even hold up under the most nominal vehicle wear. A specific example are the automotive belts and hose clamps. I tried to use some of their hose clamps on a radiator hose and they rounded off and wouldn't tighten down. That would have caused a leak and consequently caused a blown head gasket -- all over a hose clamp. Another example are their automotive belts. I replaced an alternator belt and a power steer belt on my 1972 Chevrolet. The alternator belt came apart on me during the one year warranty. The power steering belt, which has very little stress on it, finally stretched so it would not tighten any more and started squealing. Autozone would not honor an exchange because it was over the one year warranty. Avoid Autozone and buy this stuff from another autoparts place like NAPA or O'reilly.

Settlement from Auto Zone "thank you pissedconsumer.com"

Hello, everyone I would like to thank you for your comments and opinions... After all this time, hooking up with local TV station (call for action news), contacting an attorney, Auto Zone Headquarters finally settled out of court for $5000.00. I feel like I sold out for that amount but, it was not about the money it was about the principal... My advice to anyone that has been screwed by "big business" *** by any business is to stick to your guns, use the internet, place reviews anywhere and everywhere that will accept them, contact national news service, what ever you can think of... and beyond all "DO NOT GIVE UP"... Thank all of you for your support and thank you "pissed consumer.com" for helping in this endeavor.

I have a complaint by the AutoZone I'll put Josie Lane in farmers branch in Dallas Texas event to the store for five times where the store manager always over give me the wrong parts I have an affinity give me for it but infinity baby give me the wrong parts of overcharging so then I don't know if he increases sales but I'm always up to bring them back in to try to return themI seem to never have any problems it any other AutoZone but this particular one I asked for some break lubricant for a dollar 49 he stuck in a put the 7.99 hand cleaner on there and I had to turn around and walk back in and return it. Asked for rear brakes for my car that was $26 charge me 47. 99 and gave me the front brakes he always overcharges when you have to come back and return then they don't want to return it I just left there again why had a 2003 infinity and I was charge me $26 on the air filter And mine air filter is 8.99 I would to try to return and they don't want to give my money back that I had to buy another air filter AutoZone on Josey lane in Farmers Branch is is a rip off and they're trying to get over on people I wish someone would contact me. 214354****

You sound pretty confused.

All Autozone parts that have a warranty (like your u joints) can be returned without a receipt.

So not sure what your issue is there.

If you returned items with a receipt that you're trying to reuse then you would run j to the situation you are explaining.

Hope this helps.

Belts are very bad quality.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The automotive belts do not hold up in everyday use. They are basically 3,000 mile wonders. After that, the belt will stretch past its usefulness and start to squeal or come apart on you. This can cause costly repairs if someone is not watching their belts carefully. I tried to return their Duralast belt and the management said it was past it's one year warranty. I advised them not to buy these belts for their cars and they had to agree they would not want them on their automobiles. Autozone belts are no good and their hose clamps will round off and not tighten down on hoses. Their automotive belts and hose clamps are inferior quality and you will be sorry if you purchase them from Autozone.

Can't get best quality parts for minimum warranty prices and then cry when they break you get what you pay for

Maniah Ewo

As a person working in the automotive repair business, I would never recommend a customer get a belt from Autozone. The reputation of a place like Autozone among the professionals is that it is the Walmart of parts.

The target market of a place like Autozone is the shade tree/DIY guy or girl who does not always know better.
